Milk Mart Social Media Manager

Remote

$15–$20/hour, based on experience

Estimated 20-30 hours per month; peak season August-May

In-person availability required on event dates

The ideal candidate is in touch with Orlando culture and community, computer/mobile literate, quick to learn digital mediums, and willing to expand their wheelhouse with guidance and help from our team!

This role has room to grow for a candidate who showcases the additional skillsets needed outside of social media management, including web building, marketing, and team management.

We’re on the hunt for a Social Media Manager who is enthusiastic about local makers, artists, small businesses, and accessible, community-focused events. This role requires a creative, self-motivated individual tuned in to social media and cultural trends, especially within the Orlando area and as they relate to the arts, markets, and alt culture.

Though this position is mostly remote, some in-person availability is required for occasional group meetings and during event days to capture content.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Posting
    • Create engaging content (reels, carousels, collages, etc.) that showcase our vendors, attendees, and overall festival vibe.
    • Manage and schedule posts across platforms (with occasional manual posting to use custom audio).
    • Pull content from vendor pages and tagged posts to create Milk Mart content.
    • Source and repost user-generated content (UGC), encouraging community participation and visibility for vendors.
    • Stay on top of social media trends and suggest ways to adapt them for Milk Mart content.
    • Maintain and update a social media calendar and doc with plans for pre-event posting, giveaways, and day-of coverage.
    • Engage with vendors, followers, and attendees regularly, both in the comments and across our platforms.
  • Strategic Planning & Inspiration
    • Collaborate on and plan campaigns (vendor spotlights, event highlights, countdowns, behind-the-scenes, etc.).
    • Maintain a shared doc of post inspiration, trend references, and audio ideas.
    • Curate and update a library of relevant hashtags and explore location-based discoverability tools.
  • Event Promotion & PR
    • Add upcoming events to relevant community and event calendars.
    • Research and maintain a list of online calendars and platforms for event promotion.
    • Write event descriptions tailored to specific audiences and platforms.
    • Draft press releases and media alerts for major announcements or events.

Bonus Points For:

  • Familiarity with Orlando’s creative scene and small business community.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Experience with CapCut or comparable video editing software.
  • Experience with email marketing tools like Klaviyo.
  • Experience with Webflow, or other web building platforms.
