marketing Manager

  • Remote, with occasional in-person and on-site meetings.
  • $20-$25/hour, based on experience and performance.
  • Part time, estimated 40-60 hours per month, with room to grow.
  • In-person availability required on event dates.

Our dream Marketing Director is knowledgeable and skilled in all things advertising from digital to print, including social media trends and techniques, campaign planning, content creation, newsletter management, and the best local spots to put up a flyer. They have interest and enthusiasm for local arts and culture, and are already involved with Central Florida’s scene in some way. This role requires a creative, self-motivated individual with a pulse on social media and cultural trends, especially within the Orlando area and as they relate to the arts, events, markets, and alternative/underground/fringe culture.

Though this position is mostly remote, some in-person availability is required for occasional meetings and during event days.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Posting
    • Create engaging content (reels, carousels, collages, etc.) that showcase our vendors, attendees, and overall festival vibe.
    • Manage and schedule posts across platforms (manually or via scheduling).
    • Pull content from vendor pages and tagged posts to create new content.
    • Source and repost UGC, encouraging community participation and visibility for vendors.
    • Stay on top of social media trends and suggest ways to adapt them for Milk Mart content.
    • Maintain and update a social media calendar and doc with plans for pre-event posting, giveaways, and day-of coverage.
    • Engage with vendors, followers, and attendees regularly, both in the comments and across other platforms.
  • Strategic Planning & Inspiration
    • Collaborate on and plan campaigns (vendor spotlights, event highlights, countdowns, behind-the-scenes, etc.).
    • Maintain a shared doc of post inspiration, trend references, and audio ideas.
    • Curate and update a library of relevant hashtags and explore location-based discoverability tools.
  • Event Promotion & PR
    • Add upcoming events to relevant community and event calendars.
    • Research and maintain a list of online calendars and platforms for event promotion.
    • Write event descriptions tailored to specific audiences and platforms.
    • Draft press releases and media alerts for major announcements or events.
    • Assist with planning and coordination as needed to support the broader Milk Mart team, collaborating with community ops when needed to create unique campaigns.

Required to have or to learn:

  • Familiarity with Orlando’s creative scene and small business community.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Experience with CapCut or comparable video editing software.
  • Experience with Klaviyo.
  • Experience with Webflow.

This position has room to grow as our marketing network does. Expanding our reach through new calendar research, campaign ideas (both online and in print), newsletter growth, and ways to push more guests towards our local businesses and away from places like Amazon, Walmart, etc.

community operations liaison

  • Remote, with occasional in-person and on-site meetings.

  • Part time, estimated 30-50 hours per month, with room to grow.
  • In-person availability required on event dates.

We’re looking for a charismatic and detail-oriented Community Operations Liaison to help ensure a smooth festival, from inbox to on-site. This person will be in charge of supporting and growing our network of artists, vendors, community partners, and sponsors, through a mixture of relationship-building, email communications, task execution, and data organization. Our ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and already involved in some way with Orlando’s art, event, market, and alt culture scene.

Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Communications
    • Serve as the first point of contact for vendor, business, and sponsor inquiries, communicating clearly and kindly throughout the event cycle.
    • Process the first round of vendor applications, removing spam and disqualified applicants.
    • Process vendor payments, connecting payment accounts to applications and merging duplicates.
    • Clean, organize, and maintain vendor data and records across Square and Klaviyo.
    • Recruit new vendors through targeted campaigns and outreach.
  • Community & Sponsor Outreach
    • Research and connect with local community groups who would be good fits for activations at Milk Mart.
    • Build and maintain relationships with our venues, community partners, and sponsors.
    • Assist with outreach to potential sponsors and collaborators.
  • Event Support
    • Act as a liaison for vendors, community partners, and sponsors during events.
    • Support on-site operations to ensure a positive, seamless experience, including managing an info booth.
    • Assist with planning and coordination as needed to support the broader Milk Mart team, collaborating with marketing when needed to create unique campaigns.

Required to have or to learn:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle a variety of different types of clientele.
  • Highly organized, comfortable managing data and digital workflows.
  • Comfortable cold-emailing local groups and potential sponsors, writing emails and attending video calls.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Square.
  • Experience with Klaviyo.
  • (bonus) Experience with Webflow.
  • (bonus) Experience with Zapier.
  • (bonus) Experience in the event space.

With room to grow:

This position has room to grow as our database evolves. Someone familiar with or able to learn automated systems connecting things like Google Workspace, Square, Klaviyo, and Zapier, or able to recommend new database options to achieve a more efficient workflow, will be able to succeed and grow in this role.
